Plant Chemistry

So, why herbs?

Because plants are little chemical wonders. A plant spends its entire life responding to the world around it and to survive, it produces an incredible variety of natural compounds.

Some of these compounds give plants their beautiful colours and scents. Others help protect the plant or support its own growth and resilience.

We're talking about things like polyphenols, flavonoids, terpenes, carotenoids and other plant compounds, alongside naturally occurring oils and nutrients.

It's a whole little world inside a leaf or flower. And honestly? That's pretty amazing.

Generational Knowledge

The Heritage of Botanical Oils

Before skincare became an industry, it was something much closer to home: a grandmother making oil, a herbalist drying flowers, a family passing down a recipe used for generations.

For thousands of years, people have turned to herbs, flowers, roots and seeds to care for their skin and bodies. Long before we had ingredient lists and laboratories, there was observation, tradition and a deep understanding of plants.

Today, we honor that traditional wisdom by carefully crafting botanical oils with respect for the plants themselves. That’s where our love of botanical oils begins.

Of course, traditional use isn't the same as scientific proof, and not every old remedy lives up to its reputation. But centuries of botanical knowledge offer something incredibly valuable—a starting point.

There's something we really love about botanical skincare : its quiet simplicity. It reminds us that the best things are often beautifully simple.

Plants have been here long before our skincare rituals and we’ve learned to appreciate a small part of what they have to offer.

So the next time you massage a botanical oil into your skin, pause for a moment. Notice the scent. Notice the color. Notice how your skin feels.

And remember: You're not just applying oil. You're experiencing a little piece of the plant world.
